{"id":4,"date":"2008-04-07T08:25:26","date_gmt":"2008-04-07T12:25:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/huesgfx.com\/dv\/?p=4"},"modified":"2008-04-07T01:09:53","modified_gmt":"2008-04-07T05:09:53","slug":"heavy-3d-poly-counts-and-semi-photo-realistic-renderings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/huesgfx.com\/dv\/2008\/04\/07\/heavy-3d-poly-counts-and-semi-photo-realistic-renderings\/","title":{"rendered":"Heavy 3d Poly counts and semi photo realistic renderings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"content\">Three pictures of the bovine assault fleet in orbit around kellvetti Dru&#8230;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--><!--[endif]--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\">This is a screen grab from the new Yak Phlem cartoon.<span> <\/span>This is a still shot from an animated sequence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--><!--[endif]--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\">This shot has the spaceships, a planet and it\u2019s moons and then the background textures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\">This entire scene was modeled in 3ds Max 4.0 and the textures were created in both Photoshop and good old trusty Paint shop pro.<span> <\/span>A program that I use quite a lot.<span> <\/span>It is just as handy as Photoshop yet requires less computer resources (A.K.A the \u201cFootprint\u201d) then photoshopo, thus freeing memory up for the actual pictures instead of the application.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\">A key feature when you are dealing with \u201cless\u201d then top of the line computer systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--><!--[endif]--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\">The Purple Bovine \u201cgreep\u201d class ships were about 10,000 Polygons and were made up of opacity and bmp textures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--><!--[endif]--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\">The Grey Bovine frigates were much more detailed and have 269k Polygons and the planet were just plain old spheres clocking in at about 100k polygons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--><!--[endif]--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\">The Larger Bovine frigates were made up of about three different ship models that I found out on the net.<span> <\/span>I cut them up and pieced them together to come up with this ship design.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--><!--[endif]--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\">All total it took about 15 hours to model out these ships and stage this scene.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\">The 1.8 gig AMD Atholon with 712 megs of ram and took about 8 minutes to render the entire scene out. <\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"float: left;\" src=\"http:\/\/huesgfx.com\/dv\/wp-content\/yak_img\/bovine_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"504\" height=\"364\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"float: left;\" src=\"http:\/\/huesgfx.com\/dv\/wp-content\/yak_img\/bovine_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"502\" height=\"348\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"float: left;\" src=\"http:\/\/huesgfx.com\/dv\/wp-content\/yak_img\/bovine_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"486\" height=\"352\" \/> <span class=\"content\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"facebook\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share.php?u=http:\/\/huesgfx.com\/dv\/2008\/04\/07\/heavy-3d-poly-counts-and-semi-photo-realistic-renderings\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Share on Facebook\">Share on Facebook<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three pictures of the bovine assault fleet in orbit around kellvetti Dru&#8230;.
