{"id":1515,"date":"2019-11-01T22:41:15","date_gmt":"2019-11-01T22:41:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/huesgfx.com\/firedrake\/?p=1515"},"modified":"2019-11-01T22:41:15","modified_gmt":"2019-11-01T22:41:15","slug":"an-intensive-vr-dev-run-begins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/huesgfx.com\/firedrake\/an-intensive-vr-dev-run-begins\/","title":{"rendered":"An intensive VR dev run begins!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alright.\u00a0 I have two -5 to 7 day blocks of time, free in the coming month and I intend to do an intensive game dev\u00a0 cycle and see if I can\u2019t get the new levels for Firedrake VR epsiode #2 done and in the can.<\/p>\n<p>I have a pretty good dev station set up , with unity 2018.4lts installed on three dev machines.\u00a0 A vanilla Dell i5 tower, a custom built dual core 2 machine with\u00a0 a pair of geforce 8800 gtx\u00a0 video cars ( all in, the comp\u00a0 benchs out next to an i7-2400)\u00a0 and an vanilla Dell i3\u00a0 laptop, all sourced off of craigslist for a sum of about 500.00 all in. \u00a0 Ther eis also a gearvr V1 with an s7 and a oGo.<\/p>\n<p>The idea being that I can level design concurrently and that while I am light baking and \u201cprocessing\u201d on one station, i can turn and work on another station\u2026 hopefully keeping production time flowing\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I have the fully working game kit and code worked out from the last four prototypes and the complied first episode of firedrake, so I won\u2019t have to do to much coding, however I do want to add some quest features and new weapons in the new version and get the oGo controller working and ditch the gamepad\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>I have about 10-12 man hours a day to devote to it all and I plan on \u2026I don\u2019t know what the word is\u2026 \u201cLive blogging\u201d the process as best I can as I bang stuff out.\u00a0 Ok\u2026 here we go\u2026..<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alright.\u00a0 I have two -5 to 7 day blocks of time, free in the coming month and I intend to do an intensive game dev\u00a0 cycle and see if I can\u2019t get the new levels for Firedrake VR epsiode #2 done and in the can.
