Alright. I have two -5 to 7 day blocks of time, free in the coming month and I intend to do an intensive game dev cycle and see if I can’t get the new levels for Firedrake VR epsiode #2 done and in the can.
I have a pretty good dev station set up , with unity 2018.4lts installed on three dev machines. A vanilla Dell i5 tower, a custom built dual core 2 machine with a pair of geforce 8800 gtx video cars ( all in, the comp benchs out next to an i7-2400) and an vanilla Dell i3 laptop, all sourced off of craigslist for a sum of about 500.00 all in. Ther eis also a gearvr V1 with an s7 and a oGo.
The idea being that I can level design concurrently and that while I am light baking and “processing” on one station, i can turn and work on another station… hopefully keeping production time flowing…
I have the fully working game kit and code worked out from the last four prototypes and the complied first episode of firedrake, so I won’t have to do to much coding, however I do want to add some quest features and new weapons in the new version and get the oGo controller working and ditch the gamepad….
I have about 10-12 man hours a day to devote to it all and I plan on …I don’t know what the word is… “Live blogging” the process as best I can as I bang stuff out. Ok… here we go…..
